Interests

In my spare time I enjoy football. Both as a spectator and a player. I support Arsenal Football Club and try to go to a few matches every season. With a great passion for International Tournaments and follow the hopes and dreams of our nation with the England Football Team. Enjoyed the World Cup, especially seeing countries like the US and South Korea, make such a big impact on the international stage. When ever possible, I play football with my friends from college and university. I also enjoy keeping fit and attend the local gym.

My other hobbies include computer games. I play when I can and the main genres I enjoy are, Football Management, Strategy and First Person Shooters. Although I have been playing most of these games since their original carnations (early 1990s) I am still very very bad at them. My favourites are Championship Manager, Z and Duke Nukem. I received an XBox for Christmas 2003, and have been trying my best to see how bad I can be on console games.

I joined the British Computer Society in January 2002. This gave me access to privileged services and activities as a Student Member. I have now been upgraded to Graduate Member. With opportunity to meet other IT professionals and gain an insight into the industry. I decided to terminate my membership in April 2007 as I found that the society no longer represents the field I work in.

I enjoy reading, mainly classic novels and plays. I also regularly read Computer Weekly, Computer Active and PC Format, to keep informed of all the developments in the IT world, in terms of both software and hardware.

I like to keep up to date on current affairs. Watching Newsnight every night if possible, as well as Panorama and Question Time. I also enjoy listening to talk radio for lively discussion, such as BBC Radio Five Live and LBC 97.3

Music wise, I am a big fan of 80s music, dance music and general chart music. Although I have never been to any individual artist's concerts, I have been going to Capital FM's Party In The Park, in aid of the Princes Trust, between 2000 and 2002. This gives me an opportunity to see around 30 artists that are making an impact on the modern music scene. Living on the outskirts of the M25, allows me to be able to listen to all the London based radio stations. Although, recently, I have been listening to BBC Radio 1. With most of my friends, this has been the station of choice. I found that, when I listen through the week, the same, small collection of four to five songs are played, nothing else. Although, commercial radio broadcasting can be quite repetitive and at times tediously unoriginal, I find some stations cater for a good variety of musical tastes. 96.4 The Eagle, for Surrey is one golden example. Other favourites include KISS 100, for the only station brave enough to play some of the best remixes out there. Although Radio 1, has been putting on several bootlegs downloaded from the internet recently! Even my home town now has a FM frequency, broadcasting Swan FM. This has recently been amalgamated into Mix 107. Was given the gift of a DAB Portable radio for my birthday and have been enjoying digital radio!

I enjoy traveling and have been to India, 4 times. My first trip to my motherland with my family was in 1983, then in 1989, 1997 and 2001. I have also been to Paris on a few occasions, and crossed the Atlantic in February 1996 to visit San Diego, California.
